Today the boys had their first official picture day. I mean, I take pictures everyday; but let's face it, I'm no photographer! I needed some professional help. My dad is friends with the owner of Time 2 Remember, so he arranged for us to have their pictures taken there. I'm so glad! The photographer there, Mrs. Stacie, is wonderful. Upon entering the studio I was taken back by the beautiful portraits on display. In case you've never tried to photograph 3 month old triplets, let me tell you, it's no easy task. Mrs. Stacie was so comfortable holding and handling the babies and so very patient; a good quality to have when dealing with one baby, but a must when photographing triplets. To add to the fun, Taylor was with us, and with so much attention being focused on the babies he began to misbehave a little to get some attention thrown his way. Again, Stacie knew just how to make him feel special by inviting him into a photo. Unfortunately he wouldn't take his shirt off for her to get the artistic shot she was trying for, but we did get an adorable shot of him holding Brayden with Carter and Tucker on either side of him. I can't wait until next Wednesday when we got to see the pictures.

Here's a sneak peak of the boys in their picture outfits. Mrs. Laurette got these for the boys before they were born. I'm so happy they're finally able to fit them. I could just eat 'em up!

Picture day sure wore the boys out. As I pulled in the driveway here's how I found all my boys:

Yes, Taylor's asleep with a lollipop in his mouth. Also, I'd like to point out that the studio is only about 10-15 minutes from the house.

After I woke the boys up, the little ones demanded dinner immediately. So, after feeding, Carter was in such a good photo taking mood, I decided to summon to inner photographer in me. Here's my little ham, Carter.

Those are all straight off the camera. I need to tweek them a little. How cute would those be in black and white?

Here are some other random pictures

The bottles I wash DAILY:

Since they are such a large part of my day, I thought I'd share!

We did it! We went to Atlanta, overnight, with the boys and survived. We did more than survive, we actually had fun. The boys were absolute troopers. They endured long days, hot sun, long car rides, severe disruption of their schedules, they all three slept together in a way too small pack n play smacking each other all night, and through all that, they were happy boys. They turned three months old today. I can't believe that it was only about 6 weeks ago they practically lived in that pack n play, now they look like sardines packed in there!

I took way too many pictures. Way, way too many! So, if you'd like to see them all, please email me at twjlloyd@bellsouth.net with the subject line 'Vacation Pictures' and I'll send you the snapfish link to view them all or leave a comment here with your email address. Please don't be shy, I'd love to share them with everyone. I wish I could do it here, but I have too many to post here. Also, unless you state otherwise, I'll already have you on the 'mailing list' to send you pics in the future!
DAY 1
Day 1 we packed up the ole minivan and headed to lovely Atlanta. The city where Wade and I are bound to get lost, each and every time, at least once and where it seems something bad is always going to happen. I guess us country folks just don't know how to survive in the big city. Twice in Atlanta we have been gotten tickets, once for Wade not wearing his seat belt and once for Wade speeding. This trip, Wade left his window down and my and Taylor's luggage was stolen, along with a baby sling I JUST bought (still in the box), and our car insurance cards. Now, I'm not pointing fingers, I'll let you find the common denominator there. And I'm not pickin on my sweet husband either, he knows. The silver lining here is that I got to go to a huge 2 story Target to get Taylor and I a new outfit. I was in heaven for a short 15 minutes. The store was about to close when we got there, so I had to run through it. = (
Other than that, we had lots of fun on day 1. While at the Aquarium we got to see lots of marine life. Taylor's favorites were the whale sharks, the stingrays, the starfish, the sea turtles, and the all the tropical fish varieties. As I'm typing this, he's still naming more 'favorites' but I think I'll stop there. I guess it's safe to say he really enjoyed himself. I'm sure we'll be going back there again in the future.
Here's a preview of some of the pics you'll see: I don't know why they formatted so small, but I can't enlarge them.... You can on snapfish though.

DAY 2
Day 2 we got up and went to Zoo Atlanta. We couldn't have gone on a more perfect day weather wise. It was overcast and breezy all day. The zoo is so beautiful and shady anyways, I'm sure had the sun been shining bright, we still would have been comfortable. The downside to the cloudy sky turned to rain and the day ended with us running, all 4 kids in tow, to the car in the pouring rain. The only animal we didn't get to see were the kangaroos. The animals there are certainly living in luxury. Whether we were visiting animals from Asia or Africa, it felt like we were in their native lands far away. They have done such a wonderful job to make the experience as comfortable and real as it can be for both the human visitors and the animals who live there.
Here's a preview of some pictures from the zoo. Again, they are small, but I can send you the link to see them larger.

DAY 3
Day 3 we rested a little at home. I finished up my 'back to school' shopping to take advantage of the tax free holiday. I can't believe my baby is starting Kindergarten in 3 days! We had orientation today. Again, let me say I love this school already!
DAY 4
Day 4 Mamaw came over to sit with the babies while Wade, Taylor, and I went to the Pine Mountain Animal Safari. Let me start by saying our view point may be slightly jaded as we just visited the beautiful, luxurious Zoo Atlanta. However, Atlanta or not, the Animal Safari was a disappointment. Taylor, who is the important one here, had a good time and loved getting to feed the animals (mostly deer and cattle). There were only really 4 large, exotic animals there; 2 giraffes, 2 lions, a rhino, and a camel. These poor, poor animals were in small cages; small for their size at least. The lion cage was almost completely concrete with a slight bit of good ole Georgia clay in the corner and a large 'dog house' of sorts to shade him from the blistering sun. I felt so bad for these animals, I felt bad for having paid money to see them on display in this way. To add to the insult, we paid more ($65) to see this bare cow pasture in disrepair, then we did the Zoo in Atlanta. Most of the field there was bare, no grass only clay, and much of it had no trees for shade. There were signs all around protesting the expansion of the park. I'm not from there and have no say, but if I did, I would say the owner needs to invest that expansion money into repair of the land; plant some trees and grass and design some natural looking habitat areas for these poor animals. I wonder if PETA has ever visited this farm?
One thing is for sure, we will NOT be going back. If for no other reason than the pity and sorrow I felt for the large animals there. Now the pigs, deer, and cattle probably have it better there with everyone feeding them than they do at a normal farm... But they don't advertise a country farm experience either...

We took the scenic route back home and stopped for a picture...

Why did this pic format right??

I have lots to add about out mini summer adventure, but I'll have to do that later tonight when I'll have more time. For now, here's the recipe of the week, taken straight from a box of Bisquick and it is YUMMY!

Ultimate Chicken Fingers

6-8 Chicken fingers (cut from a boneless skinless breast or ready packaged)
2/3 cup Bisquick Mix
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt or garlic salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1 egg slightly beaten
3 Tbsp butter, melted

Heat oven to 450. Line cookie sheet with foil; spray with cooking spray. Mix Bisquick mix, Parmesan cheese, salt and paprika in a Ziploc bag.

Dip chicken in egg, then shake in Ziploc bag until covered evenly.

Bake 12-14 minutes, turning halfway through baking time. Cook until no longer pink in the center.

I told you all how I don't follow recipes well. This is the recipe I used, but I just poured and dumped and added spices and seasonings from the cabinet until I thought it all looked good. So, I would encourage you to make it your own as well. I made some Macaroni and cheese and a salad to go with the fingers.

ENJOY!!

In less than 12 hours we'll be hitting the road! All six of us are piling up in the ole blue minivan and headin to Atlanta for what's sure to be an exciting and memorable trip. We're leaving immediately after the boys eat breakfast. Our first stop will be somewhere in Atlanta for lunch, then we're off to the Georgia Aquarium. After we leave the aquarium, we have no plans other than checking into our hotel, but I'm sure we'll get into something. We'll see how the boys are doing to determine our next moves. Our hotel is in Buckhead, right in the middle of everything, so depending on the weather, we make just strike out on foot and see where we land. Then, Thursday morning we're headin to Zoo Atlanta for some lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Taylor's really into Meerkats, and we read online that they have some at the zoo, so we may be spending lots of time there. We may check out the World of Coke or one of the many other attractions too, but we didn't want to plan too much. So, we'll see how the days goes with that. Then, as if that's not enough punishment fun, we're going to end our trip with a visit to the Pine Mountain Animal Safari.

How much does one have to pack for this overnight adventure you might ask...

Plus a couple of strollers already in the van... FUN! What's funny is that I am certain we'll get on the road and think of more than 1 thing that we've forgotten!

Lot's of pictures coming soon!

Ok, I didn't like how that turned out. The layout of the smilebox recipe page that is...The recipe itself is de-lish!

The recipe, by the way, is a combination of recipes I've found as well as things I added in myself after each time I've cooked it. If I ever copy a recipe, the credits will be listed. I always 'play' with recipes, never follow them exactly, and I don't measure or time things. So, when giving recipes to friends I often guess the cook time and amounts of ingredients..Or I say things like, 'cook until it's done'- 'add liquid and stir until it looks "right."' I get that from my Mom.

Anyways, I'm trying my best. I've heard from lots of you that you'd like me to post recipes. So help me out by leaving comments to let me as well as others know what you think, or ideas that you have to make the recipe even better! Comments also let me know that you are still enjoying and finding the recipes useful.

Since the last post didn't post as I wanted it to and it's too small to view, here's the recipe again.

Chicken Broccoli Fettuccine Alfredo

1/2 a box fettuccine noodles
1 can cream of mushroom soup (98% fat free)
6 ounces shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 cup of milk (2%)
6 chicken strips, washed and cubed
Frozen broccoli florets (add to taste)
Minced garlic and pepper (add to taste)

Boil water for noodles, Sauté chicken cubes in a little extra virgin olive oil and minced garlic. About 5 minutes before noodles are done, add frozen broccoli to water, cook with noodles remainder of the time. Drain noodles; combine mushroom soup, milk, and parmesan cheese. Simmer 5-10 minutes until thick. Top with more cheese if you'd like.

Even if you don't like mushroom soup, you'll like this! The cheese combines to make it a creamy alfredo taste. However, a less healthy, but tasty alternative is a block of Philadelphia cream cheese in place of the mushroom soup. For an even richer sauce, you can exchange heavy cream for the milk.

ALSO - this post has a label. That means you can click the label and it will pull up all the post I've written and assigned that label. So, if you want to cook something from a recipe you read here, but it was a while back that I posted it, you can come here, find a 'Sundee Supper'label on any post, click it, and it will pull up all the previous posts that had that same label.

Thank you all so much for your support and willingness to take the time to go out there and vote and spread the word for me. Unfortunately there was some controversy over the voting causing the vote to be called off and it looks like now it will probably just be a random drawing. So, keep your fingers crossed!

In other news, Brayden slept through the night (7pm-6am!!) Wednesday night. Then, on Thursday we were a little off schedule because Taylor's baseball practice was a little later than usual and so they ate at 10pm and all slept through to 4am! It's getting close, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much. My little, hum, Big Brayden Bear is 13 lbs!! They'll be 12 weeks old tomorrow.

I caught Carter smiling (on camera that is). They are all starting to smile when you talk to them. After they get a full tummy they're all smiles. They're also starting to coo and make little noises here and there. It's all still few and far between, but I'll take what I can get.

We registered Taylor for school yesterday. The school is so nice, we are so excited we were able to get him in there. His teacher is Mrs. Walters, she seems nice and Wade, well, let's just say Wade won't be disappointed if we have any parent/teacher conferences! When registering us for the PTA, he put his name down on the form, forgetting about me, then saying there just wasn't enough room. Hmmm.. School breakfast and lunch is $70 a month. Sheesh! Does it ever end?? These boys are already eating me out of house and home! Looks like he'll be packing a lunch everyday. Speaking of eating...

July has been hot and I decided to make some sweet Popsicles to help cool things down. I found these super cool Popsicle molds at Bed Bath and Beyond ($2.99 for a mold that makes 4). Afterwards, I realized that I probably could have gone to the dollar store and got the same ones cheaper... I have to remember that dang dollar store! Anyways, they have a drip catcher and as the Popsicle melts down you can slurp up the juices through the super cool straw mold on the side. They are easy to clean, of course that means dishwasher safe, and Taylor LOVES the excitement of helping me make them. I made a big batch and as we ate one, I'd refill the empty mold with more of the mixture. You can also put some of this mixture in ice trays and put the ice cubes in regular lemonade to make it even yummier! So, are you ready to find out what this "mixture" is comprised of?? It's complicated...
Ingredients
1 frozen concentrate pink lemonade mix (use this can to measure water)
1 pint fresh strawberries, clean, cut off tops, and puree with concentrate
1 1/2 cans of water

Put strawberries and concentrate in the blender, put water into the container you're going to store it in, then add blended mixture, stir. Pour into molds. Freeze 4 hours or so.

Note: You have to dip the molds in water for about 3 minutes so they'll come out easily without pulling the stick out while the pop stays in the mold.
You can play with this recipe as much as you want by changing the flavor of the concentrate and the fruits you choose. Pink lemonade is probably one of the highest in sugars, go for the "all natural" and fruit juice blends to reduce the sugar intake. I get those huge bags of Dole frozen fresh fruit from Sam's, so I'll be making a healthier fruity blend with that next time and instead of adding the concentrate or water, I'm adding low-fat vanilla yogurt as my mixer...I'll let you know how that works out.

ENJOY! He sure is...
